2/25/12: 2 car MVA E-1, PC-1

"Osc bls and ALS ambulance from FEMS are enroute."

"PC-1 copies all. Is there an ETA on either one?

"unfortunately They didn't giver an eta"

"pc-4 to pc-1 we should probally get a tow truck out here"

(no need to use radio since we're standing essentially next to each other)
'No, we'll wait on the tow. This is going to be a long accident investigation. Move your Tahoe so it shuts down the road coming in over there.'
*Points up the road*
*jogs back to my car and moves it so that it blocks the other part of the road*

"ladder-22 respond code 3 to 85 riverview dr. For manpower"

"Show FIRE CAR-1 enroute code 3 from the station"

*I throw on my turn out gear and walk to my truck and start it up and hit the lights and sirens and start heading towards 85 riverview*

"10-4"

'ok I'll move up the road'
*i get back in my truck and start it up and drive further on the road and close it down telling people it's closed due to a MVA*
*i then start filling out a report for the MVA and than jog back to the scene*

'how much longer until paramedics and firefighters arrive did dispatch give you an eta?'

*I arrive in the area and I see a police car blocking the road and I drive around it, and I park on the left side of the street with half of my truck on the sidewalk. I turn the sirens off and I step out of my truck and I have a look of the vehicle with the person stranded in it, since I am the Chief and have no equipment to help em out I await E-1*

"Car-1 to E-1 ETA?"

*I salute to the fire chief as he pulls up*

(Remember he is gonna be on scene in 1-2 days due to RL training)

(so basically were screwed or the fire chief can go back and get equipment*

'Carry on Officer, no need to salute me'

'ok you should probally check out the victim'

(to PC-4)'no eta on either medic, but dispatch did roll ladder-22 and E-1 is only a few minutes out."
*I see the fire chief has arrived and go over to brief him*
'Chief, the SUV occupants seem ok for now, the sedan is our biggest worry right now. She's still talking to us, but her voice is slurred and she isn't making much sense. If the ALS medic isn't going to be here soon, Id think about calling for a life flight to get her out of here once she's out of the car. It shouldn't be to hard to figure out what happened, this intersection has a red light camera, but from witness reports, the driver of the SUV was on the phone and ran the red light and hit the sedan at about 40-45mph.'

(For quick reference, the sedan is a small car, say about a mid 90's Prius for reference, and the SUV is a recent model year large SUV like an Expedition or a Yukon. I know, its a worst case type scenario, but that's more fun, right?

The SUV hit the sedan on the driver's side, pretty much square on the front wheel well)

'ok we should probally stay with the victims do they dont fade away on us'

*I grab Of. Epstein by the shoulder and drag him away from the crowd*
'Keeping traffic away from this intersection is your first priority. Second is pushing the crowd back some. This could turn into a fatal real fast, and I want the scene as preserved as we can get it for when we do accident reconstruction. Also, keep an eye on the passengers from the SUV, I dont want them getting away and leaving the scene. If you have to, stick'em in the back of my car. I'm going to grab my halligan tool and see if there's any way Chief can use it'

'Alright thanks for the info officer, I am going to check on her'

*I walk over to her, and look to see if I can do anything, and she has a seatbelt on still, which probably saved her. I would cut the seatbelt and pull her out however I do not know how badly she is injured so i do not want to make any injuries worse, therefore I choose to step up Fire rescue*

"Car-1 we needs the jaws of life now she is fading away a couple more minutes she may pass"

*I go over to my car, pop the trunk and grab my forced entry halligan tool out of the back. Closing the trunk, I go back over to the sedan, set the tool on the hood of the car, then go around to the passenger side and make contact with the victim to comfort her.*

'you got it'

*i walk back over to the crowd and say*

'I NEED EVERYONE TO BACK UP!'

*they all back up*

"Dispatch to all units the ALS and BLS ambulances should be there any second"
(Remember you can god-mod them, they are fake)

"PC-4 to dispatch they just arrived"

'Good'

*I sit back in my chair and relax knowing help is there*

'I NEED EVERYONE TO BACK AWAY FROM THIS AREA WE ARE CLOSING DOWN THIS INTERSECTION!'

*i then go join the other officer*
